steveworks is a family-run company that is transitioning to become a worker-owned co-op. We are seeking a Carpenter with at least 3 years of residential construction experience to join our team. The Carpenter should have rough and finish carpentry skills, and be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Rough and finish carpentry skills
  • Global understanding of all major aspects of construction projects the company performs. Can foresee the next several steps so as not to have to backtrack, duplicate work, or do unnecessary work
  • Can read and follow plans and specifications
  • Understands principles of sustainability, including advanced framing, air sealing, water management, and weatherization, and can problem-solve different approaches
  • Works well with others, including less experienced co-workers
  • Maintains a clean, safe job site
  • Demonstrates effective problem-solving & ability to plan ahead
  • Can take initiative when needed and show good judgment
  • OSHA 5 certification

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time, year-round hourly position with a pay range of $25-32/hour depending on experience. steveworks offers a comprehensive health insurance policy for employees, including family coverage, Health Reimbursement Account, a 401(k) contribution, generous paid vacation and holidays, paid sick leave, and a tool allowance.
